Tokyo gets two permanent racing routes

Forza Horizon 6's City Life update has arrived, adding two permanent race routes to Tokyo City and a range of smaller changes intended to make the game's monthly Festival Playlist more accessible. Playground Games released the update for download on November 2, ahead of the City Life series beginning on November 5. The two new routes are Edo Circuit Road Race and Shuto Charge Street Race. Because they are permanent additions, they are not limited to the current Festival Playlist window. That matters for players who cannot log in every week: the new routes remain available after the current seasonal rewards rotate out. The update also adds garage decoration options, new cars, fixes and a substantial reset of competitive leaderboards.

A different reason to revisit the city

Tokyo has always been central to Forza Horizon 6's Japanese setting, but City Life puts additional emphasis on urban driving. The new races are located in Tokyo City rather than another countryside route. The Edo Circuit Road Race and Shuto Charge Street Race offer more reasons to learn the city's streets, turns and traffic patterns. The developers have not claimed that the update is a new map expansion, and it would be misleading to describe the routes as an entirely new region. They are additional events within the existing world. For players who enjoy refining lap times and learning a course, permanent additions are useful because the routes can be revisited outside the narrow timeframe of a seasonal challenge.

IKEA brings 35 props to Custom Garages

One of the update's stranger and more distinctive additions is an official IKEA Prop Pack. Forza's patch notes list 35 new decoration items for Custom Garages. They include BILLY bookcases, KALLAX shelving, LACK coffee tables, SANELA cushions, lamps, furniture and playful gaming-inspired objects. A garage can therefore become more than a functional place to store cars: players can create a space with its own look. The pack does not transform Forza into a home-design simulator, but it gives creative players a larger set of pieces to work with. Playground Games is also inviting the community to share custom garage designs for possible inclusion in its creations spotlight. The collaboration is a cosmetic and creative feature, not a requirement to participate in races.

Three new-to-Horizon cars

The headline Festival Playlist additions are the 2016 Honda S660 Alpha, 2025 Citroën Ami and 1987 Fiat Panda. These are not conventional high-powered supercars, which is part of the appeal. The S660 is a lightweight, mid-engine Japanese kei car with rear-wheel drive. The tiny electric Citroën Ami is closer to an urban runabout than a racing machine. The Panda is a boxy small car whose charm comes from practicality and personality. Their inclusion gives players new ways to approach lower-powered races and custom events. The developers say the Honda S660 and Citroën Ami also have body kit upgrades. Whether any of these becomes a favourite will depend on handling and tuning preferences, not merely the numbers in a garage listing.

A four-week reward calendar

City Life runs from November 5 through December 3. The official schedule lists ten Festival Playlist reward cars across the series, with different weekly unlocks. The Citroën Ami is available during the opening Summer season, November 5–12, while the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde follows in Autumn, November 12–19. The Fiat Panda is associated with Winter, November 19–26, and the Hillman Imp arrives during Spring, November 26–December 3. The Honda S660 Alpha is a series reward requiring 60 points. The exact points matter for collectors because missing a weekly window can mean waiting for a future opportunity. Players should consult the in-game Playlist to confirm which challenges are active and what they need to complete.

Car Pass owners get a separate lineup

Four additional cars are planned through the Car Pass during the series. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD began arriving on November 5, followed by the 2025 Volkswagen Electric Buzz on November 12, the 1983 Nissan 240RS on November 19 and the 2025 Porsche Macan GTS on November 26. These are separate from the standard Festival Playlist rewards. Playground Games says they are included with the Car Pass and editions that contain it, including Deluxe, Premium and the Premium Upgrade. A player who owns only the base game should not assume the Car Pass vehicles will appear as free Playlist rewards. Conversely, anyone who already owns an eligible edition should check their entitlements before paying for content again.

Halo and Xbox anniversary rewards

City Life also marks 25 years of Xbox and Halo with themed cosmetics. A special livery for the 2025 GR GT Prototype is being sent to players through the Message Center, and the Master Chief outfit can be earned through the Week 2 Photo Challenge. There are also collectible Gashapon machines, car horns, an emote and a Tower Power badge. These rewards add character to the monthly event, but they are not new playable Halo missions or a crossover campaign. Players interested in the Master Chief outfit should pay attention to the relevant week's Photo Challenge rather than assuming the item unlocks automatically when the update is installed.

Playlist rewards become easier to earn

Playground Games has reduced the number of Festival Playlist points required to unlock new cars. The studio says this responds to player feedback and is intended to make rewards more accessible, including for players without access to online content. The update also adds a filter to the Garage and Autoshow menus that shows special restrictions for active Playlist events. This should reduce the frustration of selecting a car and discovering it cannot enter the chosen event. Solo Seasonal Championships now use the player's selected difficulty, while cooperative championship difficulty has been increased. These are smaller changes than the new routes, but they affect how often players encounter friction while completing the weekly objectives.

Why PR Stunt leaderboards were reset

The most consequential competitive change is a full reset of PR Stunt leaderboards covering Danger Signs, Drift Zones, Speed Zones, Trailblazers and Speed Traps. Playground Games says glitches had allowed unrealistic records to be posted, and the update includes fixes intended to address those exploits. The reset removes existing leaderboard standings, including legitimate records, to create a clean comparison going forward. The studio acknowledges that this will disappoint players who earned valid results. Importantly, PR Stunt records already counted toward Collection Journal items remain unlocked. That distinction means the reset affects the public leaderboard, not every related piece of personal progression.

What comes after City Life

Playground Games has already previewed Horizon Holidays for December, including another permanent race route, additional Evolving World content and three more new-to-Horizon cars. The developer also says Forza Horizon 6 is planned for PS5 on January 26, 2027, with Premium Edition early access beginning January 21. The first expansion is also planned for January 21 across platforms. Those are future dates, not content that arrives with City Life today. For current Xbox Series X|S and PC players, the immediate reason to return is the combination of permanent Tokyo races, creative garage tools and a more manageable reward structure.
