Google’s “Power Up” Boosts Gemini Prompts

1 min read

Google is testing a new “Power Up” button in its Gemini AI app, designed to improve users’ initial prompts automatically. Instead of spending time rephrasing and refining your questions, you can now write a rough prompt and tap the button to enhance it into something clearer, more detailed, and effective.

The feature helps users get better responses from Gemini without needing to master prompt engineering. It’s a practical solution for anyone who struggles to phrase their queries precisely or spends too long trying to find the “right” way to ask something.

The Power Up tool works by upgrading your input before submission, giving you visibility into how the AI reshapes your query. This is more transparent than the usual behind-the-scenes prompt rewriting some AI models already perform.

Combined with features like Deep Research and Canvas, Power Up could make Gemini more appealing to users who’ve been frustrated with vague or inconsistent AI responses elsewhere.
