Liquid Swords, the Swedish studio behind Samson, has been declared bankrupt. A bankruptcy order was issued on October 12, and the news was reported on October 18.
What happened to the studio?
PC Gamer, citing Swedish outlet Breakit, reported that around 30 employees had gone without pay for at least two months before staff petitioned for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy administrator is seeking a buyer for the studio and its assets, including Samson; bids were reported to be open through October 21.
Liquid Swords founder Christofer Sundberg said on October 19 that the studio had closed, according to Pure Xbox. The bankruptcy process leaves the game’s future support and ownership uncertain.
