What is 2-FA?
In recent years, we've seen a significant increase in the number of websites that have lost their consumers' personal information. Companies are discovering that their outdated security solutions are no match for contemporary threats and attacks as cybercrime becomes more sophisticated.
2FA is an additional layer of protection that verifies that anyone attempting to access an online account are who they claim to be. The user must first provide their username and password. They will then be requested to submit another piece of information before they can receive access.
If you have an iPhone, you won't need to download any third-party apps to improve your account's 2FA safety. Apple has added a built-in authenticator to iOS 15 to help safeguard any websites or apps that enable the capability.
How To Set Up 2-FA
To begin, open your iPhone's Settings and select Passwords from the menu. To access your passwords, use Face or Touch ID, then tap on the account you'd like to set up two-factor authentication for.
It's important to keep in mind that this two-factor authentication method isn't compatible with every website or app.
- So to create a new login or password, tap the + icon in the top right corner.
- Select Set Up Verification Code from Account Options.
- Select one of the following:
- Enter Setup Key
- Scan QR Code
4. Every 30-seconds, 2FA codes will appear and can be automatically entered while checking in on your iPhone.
