The breakthrough finally came just after the hour mark, when Thomas Partey fired Arsenal into the lead following impressive work from Declan Rice, who was also key in their midweek European success. However, Brentford responded well and equalized in the 74th minute through Yoane Wissa, who executed a clever hooked finish inside the box.
Arsenal pushed for a winner but lacked the cutting edge to retake the lead, and ultimately had to settle for a single point. The result leaves them second in the table, now 10 points behind leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand. Brentford, on the other hand, continue their climb up the table and now sit comfortably in 11th place.
