VIDEO: Arsenal 4 – 1 Bayer Leverkusen Highlights |Watch Now | Friendlies
Arsenal showcased their potency early on, with the Emirates crowd celebrating two goals within the first ten minutes. Oleksandr Zinchenko opened the scoring with a strike from the edge of the area, followed by Leandro Trossard doubling the lead after a quick regain and slick interplay in Leverkusen’s box.
Despite a brief settling period, Arsenal maintained their dominance. Gabriel Jesus capitalized on a sloppy throw by Leverkusen to extend the lead before halftime. It was a strong first-half performance from Arteta’s side, characterized by relentless pressure and solid defense.
Leverkusen gained more control in the second half as Arteta made changes. However, Kai Havertz scored after converting an attempted Granit Xhaka clearance. Although Arsenal didn’t keep a clean sheet—conceding to a goal set up by former Gunner Nathan Tella—Arteta had much to be pleased with, including the young players’ performance and the team’s overall efficiency in the final third.
