Brighton maintained their impressive streak against Manchester United under their new manager Fabian Hurzeler. The match at the wet Amex Stadium ended in a 2-1 win for the home team, with João Pedro scoring a decisive header in the closing moments.
The winning goal came in the 92nd minute when Pedro, left unmarked in the penalty area, connected with Simon Adingra’s precise cross to nod the ball past goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Earlier, Danny Welbeck had opened the scoring for Brighton, achieving his 100th career goal with a simple finish 32 minutes into the game. Manchester United’s Amad Diallo managed to equalize around the 60-minute mark with a shot that found the net after a deflection. However, this wasn’t enough to prevent Erik ten Hag’s team from leaving empty-handed.
