Manchester United snatched a crucial 2-1 comeback victory against Crystal Palace, ending a five-year winless streak at Selhurst Park and inflicting Palace’s first home league defeat since February.
Crystal Palace, managed by Oliver Glasner, were dominant in the first half and deservedly took the lead through Jean-Philippe Mateta’s retaken penalty. However, they failed to convert numerous other chances.
United, who were criticized by manager Ruben Amorim for their poor first-half display, staged a turnaround after the break. Joshua Zirkzee scored his first Premier League goal in almost a year with a quick swivel and shot from a free-kick. Just minutes later, Mason Mount sealed the win by firing home another set-piece, exploiting a hesitation in the Palace wall. The win moves Manchester United up to seventh place.
