VIDEO: Leganés 0 – 1 Barcelona Highlights |Watch Now | La Liga

Barcelona continued their dominant run in LaLiga with a narrow but crucial 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Leganés. The victory, secured through an own goal by Jorge Sáenz, stretched Barça’s unbeaten streak in the league to 12 games and widened their lead at the top of the table to seven points over rivals Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick’s side didn’t have it easy. Leganés, fighting to escape the relegation zone, created several chances in the first half and nearly scored through Adrià Altimira, only to be denied by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Barça responded with pressure of their own but struggled to break the deadlock until the second half, when Raphinha’s cross deflected off Sáenz and into the net.

Robert Lewandowski, still in search of his 100th goal for the Catalan giants, had a few opportunities but couldn’t convert. One of his headers went just wide, and he was later substituted for Ferran Torres. Leganés thought they had equalized late on through Dani Raba, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Despite late pressure, they couldn’t find the equalizer.

The result sees Barcelona move to 70 points, while Leganés remain in the relegation zone with just 28 points, two away from safety. Barça will now shift focus to their upcoming Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund, having already built a commanding 4-0 lead in the first leg.
