Manchester City dominated the derby with a convincing 3-0 win over Manchester United, led by a brilliant performance from Erling Haaland.
City started fast, nearly scoring in the opening 20 seconds through Haaland, while debutant Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Benjamin Sesko at the other end. The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Phil Foden headed home after dazzling footwork from Jeremy Doku.
United tried to respond but couldn’t create a clear chance before halftime. Seven minutes into the second half, Doku slid a perfect pass through to Haaland, who finished clinically to double City’s lead. Moments later, the Norwegian hit the post after rounding United’s keeper, Altay Bayindir, as City kept piling on the pressure.
Donnarumma then made a stunning save to deny Bryan Mbeumo, keeping City comfortably ahead. Haaland sealed the win midway through the half, racing from inside his own half to slot past Bayindir for his second goal.
City even had chances for a fourth, but Tijjani Reijnders missed late on as United’s defense fell apart. It was total dominance from Pep Guardiola’s side.
