Despite an eventual 2-0 defeat, the scoreline could have been much worse for Manchester United. The team’s poor performance has left them 14th in the table, with three consecutive defeats and a trip to Anfield to face league-leaders Liverpool next. Newcastle, on the other hand, rose to fifth place with their fourth straight victory and fourth straight clean sheet.
Ruben Amorim, Manchester United’s manager, was left disappointed by his team’s performance, and the fans booed the team off the pitch at both half-time and full-time. The match ended a dreadful year for Manchester United, who seem to be struggling to find their form.
