Real Madrid delivered their best Champions League performance of the season with a 5-1 victory over RB Salzburg at the Santiago Bernabéu. The defending champions, needing a win to boost their campaign after earning just nine points in six matches, started slow but soon found their rhythm.
Salzburg initially posed a threat, creating better chances in the opening 20 minutes. However, Vinícius Júnior’s brilliant assist set up Rodrygo for the opener, and the Brazilian doubled the lead in the 35th minute with a superb finish, courtesy of Jude Bellingham’s clever backheel.
Kylian Mbappé capitalized on a goalkeeper error to make it 3-0 early in the second half. Vinícius then scored twice in quick succession, reaching his 100th and 101st goals for Real Madrid. Salzburg managed a consolation goal through Mads Bidstrup in the 85th minute, but it did little to dampen Real’s commanding display.
This emphatic win marked an important turning point for Los Blancos in their European campaign.
