Google just wrapped up its latest hardware event, introducing the Pixel 9 series and other updates. While some details were leaked earlier, there were still some new announcements. Here’s a quick summary of what was revealed.

Google also introduced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which is slimmer and taller than last year’s version. It features:

  • Outer Screen: 6.3 inches
  • Inner Screen: 8 inches, with a higher brightness level of 2,700 nits

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also uses the G4 Tensor chip and is priced at $1,799, with shipping starting on September 4th.

New AI Features

Google’s new Pixel devices come with Gemini AI assistant and introduce two new AI-powered apps:

  • Pixel Screenshots: Lets you search for information within saved screenshots using AI.
  • Pixel Studio: Allows you to create images from text descriptions.

Additionally, the Pixel 9 series includes advanced AI photo editing tools, such as the ability to add someone to a photo using AI. The Magic Editor in Google Photos can now replace entire sections of an image, like changing the sky.

Pixel Watch 3

The Pixel Watch 3 is available in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with some key improvements:

  • Brighter display with up to 2,000 nits
  • Slimmer bezels for more screen space
  • New ultra wideband chip
  • Enhanced health and fitness tracking

One notable feature is the ability to detect if your pulse stops, and if you don’t respond, it can call emergency services. This feature will be available first in Europe. The 41mm model is priced at $349.99, and the 45mm model is priced at $399.99, with both sizes available on September 10th.

Pixel Buds Pro 2

Google also announced the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which are smaller and lighter than before. They now include:

  • 11-millimeter drivers for improved sound quality
  • Tensor A1 chip for better noise cancellation
  • Wing fin design to help them stay in place during exercise
  • Up to 8 hours of listening time with noise cancellation (30 hours with the case)

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are priced at $229 and will start shipping on September 26th.

Gemini Live

Google’s Gemini Live feature, announced earlier this year, is now rolling out to Gemini Advanced subscribers. This voice chat feature lets you interact with Google’s AI assistant using natural conversation. The assistant can respond in one of 10 different voices and can be interrupted at any time, similar to ChatGPT’s voice assistant.

These are the main highlights from Google’s latest event, showcasing their new Pixel devices and AI-powered features.
