Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Sets New Record as Fastest Four-Door EV

Xiaomi's first electric car, the SU7 Ultra, has made headlines by breaking the record for the fastest four-door electric vehicle at the famous Nurburgring racetrack, posting a lap time of 6:46.874 – a full 20 seconds faster than the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun introduced the SU7 Ultra prototype at a conference in July, hyping it on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform. Behind the wheel was British endurance racer David Pittard, who completed the lap in just one take. Despite briefly losing power during the lap, the SU7 Ultra still achieved an impressive time, leaving many wondering how fast it might have gone without the glitch.
This high-powered EV packs 1,526 horsepower with a tri-motor setup, reaching 0-62 mph in just 1.98 seconds and hitting top speeds of 217 mph. Built with advanced tech and performance in mind, it’s equipped with carbon ceramic brakes, Bilstein adjustable suspension, and an interior lined with carbon fiber and Alcantara. It also includes a rear spoiler and active rear diffuser for extra stability.
Set to begin production early next year, the SU7 Ultra will sell only in China for around $114,000, offering outstanding performance at a price that's more affordable than many competitors.
