YouTube Introduces QR Codes for Easier Channel Sharing

1 min read

YouTube has introduced QR codes as a new way to share channels, alongside the existing option of handles. If you have a YouTube channel, you can find the QR code option by going to the You tab on your Android or iOS device and scrolling through the carousel under your handle to “Share channel.” The share sheet now includes a “QR code” option in addition to Copy link, Quick Share, and other apps.

Selecting this option brings up a fullscreen page displaying your channel name and handle, with the channel logo placed at the center of the QR code and a YouTube logo beneath it. You can take a screenshot or save the QR code to your camera roll, which is particularly useful for sharing it in physical spaces. This first-party solution with YouTube branding offers a more polished alternative to third-party QR code generators.

Additionally, you can generate a QR code for any channel by tapping the three-dot menu on the channel page and selecting Share > QR Code. This update is designed to simplify the process of sharing your channel with potential viewers.
