Microsoft Expands Copilot Reach with iOS App, Bringing GPT-4 to Mobile Users.

Following the recent introduction of the Copilot app on Android, Microsoft has now released a version for iOS and iPadOS, available for download from the Apple App Store. The app provides access to Microsoft Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) and operates similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT mobile app.

The Copilot app allows users to ask questions, draft emails, summarize text, and even create images through integration with the text-to-image generator DALL-E3. Notably, Copilot grants access to GPT-4, the latest large language model (LLM) from OpenAI, without requiring a subscription fee, unlike the free version of ChatGPT that utilizes GPT-3.5.

Microsoft’s move to rebrand Bing Chat as Copilot signifies a shift towards offering a standalone experience comparable to ChatGPT. In addition to the Android and iOS apps, Microsoft has created a separate web experience for Copilot, distinct from Bing.
