GTA 6 Will Make Stealing Cars More Complicated

Stealing a car has always been a simple part of Grand Theft Auto. In most games, players can walk up to a vehicle, press a button, and drive away.
GTA 6 will keep that familiar system, but Rockstar is adding different levels of vehicle security.

In GTA 6, not every car will be equally easy to steal.
This means players may need to consider a vehicle's value and security before trying to take it.
New Tools for Stealing Cars
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson explained that some vehicles will use modern electronic security systems.
One of the new tools is the WAINK scanner. It can help identify a vehicle's security system and value.
Players can also use a digital key cloning device to access certain high-end vehicles. Some tools will become available through progression, so vehicle theft can become more advanced as the story moves forward.

These changes could make finding a getaway car a more involved part of GTA 6. Players will still be able to steal cars quickly, but some vehicles will take more planning to access.
