Arsenal concluded their US tour with a defeat against Liverpool in Philadelphia. Liverpool secured the win with goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho. Salah opened the scoring after 13 minutes, finishing a one-on-one opportunity set up by a sequence involving Caoimhin Kelleher and Harvey Elliott. Liverpool’s second goal came from Carvalho, who capitalized on Elliott’s clever pass over the Arsenal defense.
Arsenal managed to respond just before halftime when Kai Havertz scored, following a setup by Martin Odegaard. The second half was less eventful, partly due to numerous substitutions from both teams. Arsenal had some chances to equalize, including a Fabio Vieira shot saved by Kelleher and a missed header by Gabriel Jesus from a corner. However, they couldn’t create any significant opportunities, and Liverpool maintained their lead to secure the victory.
