United started brightly under the summer sun, with Mbeumo getting an early attempt on goal and Dorgu rattling the post. But Arsenal took control in the 13th minute when Bayindir failed to deal with Declan Rice’s inswinging corner, allowing Calafiori to nod home after Saliba’s pressure unsettled the goalkeeper.
From then on, United pressed hard. Cunha stood out with powerful runs from deep, testing Raya with a series of efforts, while Mbeumo continued to stretch Arsenal’s defense. In the second half, Benjamin Sesko’s introduction brought energy to United’s attack, but Arsenal held firm. Raya denied Mbeumo’s header with a superb stop and commanded his box when it mattered most.
Manchester United pushed until the end, even appealing for a late penalty through Cunha, but Arsenal stood strong. As the final whistle blew, “1-0 to the Arsenal” rang out, marking a winning start to the season for Arteta’s men.
