Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event: What’s New?

The annual Samsung unpacked event has arrived, and with it a few new products that will be released before the holiday season. At the event, the tech giant not only unveiled new earbuds and wearables but also teased the release of at least one new foldable.
Here is a list of all the announcements made at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in August 2022.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4

The main screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 measures 6.7 inches, while the cover has a much smaller 1.9-inch screen. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s main screen and cover screen share the same specifications.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 has some new, fascinating features for those who are interested in the foldable, even though the majority of the changes are internal only. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is notable for its improved camera, which has a sensor that is 65 percent brighter than that of its predecesso; as well as its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, IPX8 water resistance rating, and 3,700mAh battery.

A 10MP selfie camera and a dual camera setup with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 12MP wide-angle lens are both featured on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. There is only an 8GB RAM memory limit, but there are three different internal storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold, and Blue are the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s four color options.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will go on sale for a starting price of $999.99 on August 26. Preorders have already begun.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

The Z Fold line of products is a portable phone-tablet hybrid (also known as a phablet). This year’s Z Fold maintains the same screen size as last year’s model: a 7.6-inch internal folding display and a 6.2-inch cover display.

A 4,400mAh battery, an IPX8 water resistance rating; and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor are all included in the Z Fold 4. The foldable has a triple rear camera setup with a 12MP ultra-wide, 50MP wide-angle, and 10MP telephoto camera, as well as a 10MP selfie camera and a 4MP under-display camera.

Samsung also points out that the most recent Z Fold line camera has larger pixels and a 23 percent brighter sensor when compared to the Z Fold 3 5G.

A new Taskbar which according to Samsung offers a layout similar to that of your PC; is one of the Z Fold 4’s new features. Additionally, the Z Fold 4 will be the first device to come pre-installed with Android 12L, a unique variation of the Android operating system designed specifically for large-screen devices like foldables.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has three internal storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, and 12GB of RAM as standard.

With a starting price of $1,799.99, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will come in three shades: graygreen, beige, and phantom black. The phone is now available for preorder; its official release date is August 26.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 & Galaxy Watch 5 Pro

Samsung announced not one but two wearables during its Galaxy Unpacked August event; the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.

The 40mm and 44mm Galaxy Watch 5 come with Bluetooth and LTE connectivity options. The bands for the 44mm option are available in Blue, White, and Graphite colors, while the case is available in Blue, Silver, or Graphite. In addition to the Purple, Graphite, and Pink Gold options for the band; the 40mm option also includes Graphite and Silver options for the case.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is only available in one size; 45mm, and in Black or Gray for both the case and band.

Samsung’s 3-in-1 BioActive sensor, which combines an optical heart rate sensor; an electrical heart sensor; and a bioelectric impedance analysis sensor, is a feature of both the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. enabling the detection of things like body composition. To help you better keep track of your sleeping patterns, both watches include Advance Sleep Coaching. A temperature sensor has additionally been added.

The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro will release on August 26, with preorders beginning today. Galaxy Watch 5 will start at $279.99 for the Bluetooth version or $329.99 for the LTE model. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will start at $449.99 for Bluetooth only or $499.99 for the LTE version.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro

At Samsung’s Summer event, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro was unveiled. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro; the brand’s new flagship earbuds, provide a much-needed compact redesign that aims to be more ergonomic. Samsung claims that the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are 28% smaller than their predecessor.
