Home Remedies For Sweaty Palms

Sweating is a form of excretion and it is very normal for a person to sweat. This is the body’s way of removing waste as well as regulating the body’s temperature.

However, they are some people who tend to sweat profusely from their palms despite the weather. This phenomena is known as hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis is very inconvenient and embarrassing when it comes to carry out daily activities and social interaction.

Sweaty palms can be due to stress, anxiety or anxiousness. Sometimes it can be due to health conditions like menopause, low blood sugar, diabetes, nervous system problems or heart attack.

Below are the ways you can manage your sweaty palms.

1. Use Antiperspirant

This is a product specially designed to reduce perspiration- sweating. It is very effective in stopping excess sweat in different parts of the body. Get yourself a hand antiperspirant and rub it on your hands frequently. Make sure you rub it at night before sleeping so that it’ll have enough time to be absorbed by your hands.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known for its astringent property. The pH levels in your body can be balanced by apple cider vinegar, which will prevent sweaty hands. You can use apple cider vinegar to clean your hands. For best result, try leaving it on your hands overnight.

3. Sanitizer

Make use of an alcohol based sanitizer or wipes for fast action. Alcohol evaporated very fast so applying it on the skin will make the sweat evaporate and cool the hands.

4. Baking Powder

Using baking soda to stop sweaty hands is a quick and affordable solution. It works as an antiperspirant and it’s alkaline nature affects the pH balance thereby reducing sweat. Make a paste using baking powder and water and apply on your hand for about 5-10 minutes (depending on how thick the paste is). Once it’s dried, rinse off with clean water.

5. Vitamins

Consume vitamin-rich foods that will help maintain equilibrium and healthy digestion. If your excess sweat is due to stress or hormonal(menopause), the B-vitamin will help regulate the excess sweat.

6. Sage

Safe leaf is a herb well known for curing skin issues in the ancient days. Its characteristic of absorbing excess oil and sweat from the skin is what is useful in this case.

Sage can be used in different ways some of which includes; applying the oil on your hands, soaking the leaves in hot water and drink as tea, adding it to your food or soaking the hands in a mixture of sage leaf and warm water for about 10-15 minutes.
