iPhone SE 2022 vs iPhone SE 2020.

In 2022, Apple introduced a new “cheap” variant to its iPhone SE series. The new iPhone SE was unveiled on March 8 during Apple’s “Peek Performance” event.

The iPhone SE was first released in 2016, with the slogan “a big step for small,” and was upgraded in 2020. The 2022 model attempts to improve on a few areas of its predecessor, but it remains largely unchanged. So, should you buy the iPhone SE 2020 or the iPhone SE 2022? Let’s start with the variances in specs.

Connectivity.

5G connectivity could be essential for those who want to stay ahead of the curve. If it describes you, you’ll probably prefer the newer option. Because the iPhone SE 2022 has 5G, the iPhone SE 2020 does not.

Cost.

The most important factor is how the iPhone SE 2022 is being advertised as a low-cost choice. Being dubbed a “budget” model, but when it comes to Apple, “budget” is always a subjective concept.

  • iPhone SE 2020: $399
  • iPhone SE 2022: $429

However, this is merely the starting price. If you require extra memory, you may go for a 128GB model for $479 or a 256GB model for $579.

Color Variants.

Because color plays such a major role in any decision, there’s no true way to determine which phone has the best color options other than by the quantity of options available. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
While the iPhone SE 2022 comes in Midnight, Product Red, and Starlight color varieties, the iPhone SE 2020 model comes in black, white, and Product Red color versions.

Size.

The iPhone SE 2022 is the same size as the iPhone SE 2020, with no changes to the 4.7-inch display.

Display.

In the same way that there are no differences in size, there are no differences in display, as they all have Retina displays with the same resolution.

Camera.

Although the cameras are identical, the iPhone SE 2022 beats off the iPhone SE 2020 because to its A15 Bionic chip, which enables sophisticated and not-so-advanced features such as Portrait mode, which has since become an iPhone feature.

Chipset.

When Apple’s A13 Bionic chip debuted in the 2020 iPhone SE with neural engine, it garnered a lot of attention, but with A15, there are a lot more possibilities.

  • iPhone SE 2020: A13 Bionic chip
  • iPhone SE 2022: A15 Bionic chip

Battery.

When it comes to the battery, the differences are minor. Wireless charging and fast charging are available on both iPhone SE versions, but the iPhone SE 2022 claims a two-hour battery life boost.

If you’re in the market for an iPhone SE, the iPhone SE 2022 is the more forward-thinking option.
