Android 15 Officially Rolling Out to Pixel Devices

Android 15 is now available for Google Pixel phones (Pixel 6 and newer), following its launch on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on September 3. This marks the first time regular users (rather than developers) can access the update, with Samsung and other Android devices set to receive it in the coming months. Alongside the Android 15 update, Pixel devices also benefit from a feature drop with additional upgrades.

Here are five standout features of Android 15:

Private Space

Android 15 introduces Private Space, a password-protected area for storing sensitive files, apps, and notifications. Similar to Samsung’s Secure Folder, this feature adds extra security for private content and will be available on non-Pixel devices soon.

Theft Detection Lock

The Theft Detection Lock feature, first introduced in Brazil, uses AI to recognize theft-related movements and automatically locks your phone to protect data. This feature is now available globally with Android 15.

Predictive Back 2.0

Predictive Back, which previews the result of a gesture before it’s completed, is now enabled by default in Android 15. It supports back-to-home, cross-task, and cross-activity actions, enhancing gesture navigation.

Improved Multitasking

For large-screen devices like tablets and foldables, Android 15 allows users to save pairs of apps to the home screen for quick split-screen access. The update also introduces a pinned taskbar for easier multitasking.

Partial Screen Recording
Android 15 adds the option to record only specific apps, making it ideal for creators who want to avoid sharing private information during screen recordings.
