Occasionally, we get an early glimpse of Apple’s future design plans, and the newly launched Invites app might be one of those moments. While it may seem like just a party-planning tool, Invites hints at the design direction Apple could take with iOS 19.

A Vision Pro-Inspired Interface
The first thing you’ll notice when opening Invites is its striking resemblance to apps designed for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. As Apple enthusiast Parker Ortolani pointed out, its glassy, floating UI elements and colorful backgrounds closely mimic the design language of visionOS.
This is a noticeable departure from Apple’s traditional iOS design, which has remained largely consistent for years. It suggests Apple may be exploring a broader visual shift across its ecosystem.
A Pattern of Change
This isn’t the first time a new Apple app has broken away from the familiar iOS aesthetic. Apple’s Sports app, released earlier, also introduced a refreshed UI. Additionally, a recent leak of the redesigned Camera app in iOS 19 shows a similarly modernized interface, reinforcing the idea that Apple is moving toward a Vision Pro-inspired design language.
Is a Major iOS Overhaul Coming?
If these recent apps are any indication, iOS 19 could bring Apple’s biggest UI redesign since iOS 7 in 2013, when the company moved away from skeuomorphic elements in favor of a flatter, more minimalistic design.
A unified design across devices makes sense—it helps users navigate Apple’s ecosystem seamlessly. If this trend continues, we could see Apple Watch, Mac, and other Apple devices adopt this new design direction as well.
We’ll likely get our answers this summer when iOS 19 is previewed at WWDC. Until then, Invites might be our best look at Apple’s next big design evolution.
