Everything Announced at The Apple Event.

The Far Out, Apple’s biggest event of the year, is now over. New iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods Pro were unveiled by the Cupertino giant. The new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus don’t much improve over the iPhone 13 lineup from last year, but the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max make significant advancements over the previous model.

Apple also announced new Apple Watch models — Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2 and Apple Watch Ultra. The last but not the least addition to the product catalogue is the AirPods Pro second-generation, which comes with the new H2 chip. Here’s a round-up of everything Apple announced at the Far Out event.

iPhone 14.

There are no significant upgrades over the iPhone 13 in the new iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 has an upgraded dual 12MP wide+ultrawide camera setup and a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (OLED) display. It is powered by last year’s A15 Bionic chip. Car crash detection and the long-rumored “Emergency SoS through Satellite” satellite connectivity are two new capabilities of the iPhone 14, which has a starting price of $799 for the 128GB storage model. The Midnight, Purple, Starlight, Blue, and Product Red color schemes are available for the iPhone 14 pair.

iPhone 14 Plus.

The iPhone 14 Plus marks the return of the larger ‘Plus’ variant featuring a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display. It is powered by the same A15 Bionic chip and has the same pair of 12MP cameras as the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Plus retains other features and colours of the vanilla iPhone 14. The ‘Plus’ iPhone 14 replaces the small-sized ‘mini’ iPhone. The new iPhone 14 Plus will be available for $899 onwards.

iPhone 14 Pro.

The major highlight of the event was the new iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion outdoor peak brightness of 2000 nits. After a long time, Apple has given the iPhone 14 Pro the much-asked Always-On Display. Well, the notch has been replaced by a new Dynamic Island, which now comprises the Face ID sensors and shows interactive notifications.

The iPhone 14 Pro has the new A16 chip with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU. Apple promises an all-day battery life with the iPhone 14 Pro. The car crash detection and satellite connection also appear on the iPhone 14 Pro.

The camera arrangement now boasts a new 48MP sensor accompanied by a pair of enhanced 12MP ultrawide and telephoto sensors. Among other improvements, the new camera system on the iPhone 14 Pro promises improved low-light photography. The iPhone 14 Pro adds a new action mode and keeps the ProRes and ProRaw features.

The iPhone 14 Pro will come in Space Black, Silver, Gold and Deep Purple colour options. It will be available for purchase starting at $999.

iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is essentially a tad larger iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with all the features of the former. It has A16 Bionic, the new 48MP led triple camera setup and the same pill shaped cutout rather known as the “Dynamic Island.” The iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a base price of $1099.

Apple Watch Ultra.

The Apple Watch Ultra, with a 49mm titanium build, targets the extreme sports enthusiasts with features deep fitness tracking, 60 hours of battery and cellular-only connectivity. The Apple Watch Pro costs $799.

Apple Watch Series 8

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes powered by a new S8 chip. There’s crash detection, improved cycle tracking and temperature sensors that measure skin’s temperature every five seconds. Apple says the Watch Series 8 will last up to 18 hours with always-on display enabled. Starting Price at $399.

Apple Watch SE 2

The new Apple Watch SE ( or Apple Watch SE 2) is a toned-down version of the Watch Series 8, powered by the same S8 chip. The Watch SE 2 borrows the crash detection feature from its more expensive siblings while missing out on the other key features. Apple says that the display on the Watch SE 2 is 30 per cent larger than the one on Watch Series 3.

Apple Airpods Pro 2.

The AirPods Pro second-generation (or AirPods Pro 2) comes with the new H2 chip, promising improved audio quality and twice the noise cancellation. The battery life on the AirPods Pro has been extended to up to 6 hours, which can go up to 30 hours with the charging case. The touch controls have been updated with new swipe-up or down gestures to increase or decrease the volume. Furthermore, the charging case now has sweat and water resistance, a speaker and a lanyard loop.
