Remedies For Oily Skin

Oily skin comes with a lot of challenges like frequent outbreaks, pimples, not being able to use certain products and even embarrassment. It has caused a lot of headaches and now is the time to say goodbye to all that.

Oily skin usual around the face is a result of excess production of sebum by the sebaceous gland. This sebum is a natural oil which is useful because it helps to keep the face moist and the facial hair. However there are cases where the body produces excess amount which isn’t necessarily needed.

Oily face can be due to stress, hormonal changes during growth or even inherited from one of your family members.

Here are remedies that will help constantly reduce the amount of oil on your skin.

1. Tomatoes

The lycopene present in tomatoes have anti-aging properties and antioxidant properties which helps reduce the amount of sebum (oil) on the skin surface. It also helps to tighten the pores to avoid build up of dirt and oil that will trigger acne.

Blend one sizable tomatoes and add a teaspoon of sugar to it. Mix and massage on the face. Allow it for about 5-10 minutes then rinse off with warm water. This will help reduce oily face.

2. Honey

Honey is nature’s well known treatment for most skin ailments. It may help oily and acne-prone skin because of its antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

It also aids in maintaining dry skin’s balance. Humectants remove skin moisture without replacing it, which is why it is useful in this case.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera helps to maintain a stable oil production on the skin layer. Extract the gel from the fresh aloe and apply it on the face. You can preferably apply it at night before sleeping so that it’ll work more effectively which you can then wash off with warm work after waking up.

4. Avoid Hot Water

Washing your face with hot water might seem really effective but in actual sense makes the situation worse. Hot water deprives the face of all its moisture leaving it very dry. The body then secrets a very high amount of sebum to replenish the skin’s moisture.

Despite it making the face dry, it tends to produce more and more oil within a very short time. Instead, wash your face with a mild face wash or soap and rinse with warm water subsequently during the day. avoid over washing the face as this might be harmful to the skin.
